WHAT IS THE SILVER WATER SYSTEM:

The Clear Blue System is a tool for disinfecting water in pools, spas and fountains. The system replaces highly toxic chemicals with a process known as Ionization.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In very basic terms, the Silver Water System works as follows. An electrode made of Silver, Copper and Zinc is placed in a chamber. This chamber is mounted in the recirculation system of your pool or spas plumbing after the filter and heater. A safe low voltage DC current controller sends signals to the anode causing microscopic particles (ions) of Silver, copper and Zinc to be dispensed into the water as it passes through the chamber.

Silver (Ag) 10%:  Ions control over 650 types of bacteria, viruses and protozoa such as HIV, Legionella Pneumophilia, Streptococcus, E-Coli, Salmonella and most Viruses. Silver has been successfully used in ailments such as Acne, Athlete's Foot, Herpes, Lesions, Poison Oak, Rashes, Septic Ulcers, Sun spots, Skin Cancer, Warts and Yeast infections. Silver is also beneficial in treating minor bites, burns wounds and scrapes.

Copper (CU) 80%: Ions prevent algae growth. Copper is recognized as one of the best algaecide killers known to man.

Zinc (Zn) 10%: stimulates healing of the skin and prevents stains and rings on the spa basin.

MAINTENANCE:

ClearBlue^TM requires far less maintenance than salt and chlorine. Electrodes that deliver current to the water need only be checked once per season and typically last for one year. You can purchase additional electrodes from your authorized dealer. To replace your electrodes, simply turn old electrodes counter clockwise to release them from the tee, and swap for a new set of electrodes, turning clock wise to fasten them back into the tee.

Maintain a residual Copper level of 0.2- 0.4 ppm in a pool and 0.4- 0.6 ppm in a spa. Check your electrodes once a year or season to ensure they are clean and intact. Your electrode will need to be replaced periodically depending on the water capacity and usage.

How long will the electrode last. Well, speaking from experience my hot tub is 610 gallons of water and I ran the Ionizer 24-7. This kept the water at .25-.30ppm ionization, which is optimal. My electode lasted 7 months. This is the recommended time the manufacturer estimates, 2 seasons worth, which is about 3months each for each season of use.

If you are handy it should be a snap. Requirements: PVC pipe cutter or hack saw, PVC glue, 120VAC  wall receptacle, teflon tape, pipe wrench, place to mount ionizing unit. Installing the unit into a pool or Spa. If you're not the DIY type, hire a plumber with experience with plastic pipe.

The system diagram shows water flow with suction into the pump thru the heater and passing  the SILVER IONIZER electrode installed in the TEE. On either side of the TEE a gate or ball valve should be installed.
